Have you ever wondered from what descent certain celebrities were? If so, you may be surprised to hear that there are several celebrities that are of South African descent because they do not look or act as if they are originally from this area. Here are seven celebrities you may have been unaware of as being descendants of South Africa.

This famous actress has been in movies such as Aeon Flux, The Monster, and The Italian Job.  She is not however originally of U.S. decent, but instead was a native of South Africa.  She watched several English-speaking movies while growing up in an attempt to learn the language before moving to the United States at the age of nineteen. Ms. Theron is the first South African woman to earn an Oscar.
